Maternity photography in Bromley
Maternity photoshoots in West Wickham and Bromley
Pregnancy goes by so quickly, and a maternity session is a lovely way to remember how it felt. I photograph mums-to-be in my home studio in West Wickham, in your home, or outdoors in the parks and gardens around Bromley, on your own or with your partner.
In the studio we work with soft light and a warm, painterly backdrop: fine art portraits in a flowing dress, a simple white shirt or your favourite jeans, or a black and white silhouette of the two of you. Outdoors it’s more relaxed, walking together, holding hands, with trees and old buildings around you.
When to book
The best time for maternity photos is between 28 and 34 weeks, when your bump is beautifully round and you are still comfortable. That’s only the ideal: you can book at any stage of your pregnancy. A session lasts about an hour, with plenty of time for breaks.
What to wear
I have four maternity dresses in the studio that you are welcome to wear, or bring your own outfits. Soft, neutral colours and simple textures work beautifully, and a rich colour such as olive or burnt orange looks lovely too. If you are unsure, send me a photo of a few options and I’ll help you choose.
